Carved Stoneware Vase

Coarse unglazed stoneware with the carving left visible — sand, an ochre-banded grey-brown, and a pitted taupe. The most tactile thing we carry: it reads as a found object rather than a bought one.

• Unglazed stoneware, raw fired surface
• Carved and banded by hand — tool marks are intentional
• For dried stems only. The body is unglazed and will seep with standing water, and can ring a wood surface
• Dust with a dry brush; do not soak
• Colour, grain and banding vary considerably piece to piece
